"My name is Matthew Freyer. I am an artist, a graphic and website designer and owner of Matthew Freyer Productions: Visual Design Studios. In the summer of 2010, my company hosted a contest called "The First Annual Home Haunters Website Giveaway. The contest was exclusively for Home Haunters and the only requirements were to have a Home Haunt, be passionate about your Haunt and tell us in an essay format, why you are a Home Haunter. Our goal for the HHWG contest was to give Home Haunters a platform to show off to the world what it means to be a Home Haunter and to showcase some of the best Haunts in the country. Winners of the HHWG contest were awarded with a professional and fully custom designed website for their Home Haunt. This is one of those websites.

SOULS OF THE FORSAKEN is by far one of the best Home Haunts we had the privilege of being introduced to. Owned and operated by Dan Krein, with the help of his entire family, his wife, Tammie, and two kids, Dan Jr. and Dylan, they produce an incredible and entertaining show for the residents of Plainfield, Illinois. In 2005 SOTF began with a single prop in their front yard. Today, Dan still designs and constructs all of his own pneumatic props, scenes and mazes throughout the Haunt. SOTF have expanded to fill their entire property with Haunting goodness, starting in the front yard, carrying over into the garage and housing a Haunted House in the backyard that consists of seven entirely unique buildings. The passion and creativeness the Krein family have for Halloween and Haunting is unsurpassable."
